Give 'em The Bird

Quote of the day: Quran (9:11) -- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.
Note the verse number.
God is able to reveal His truth even through a heretic. The Quran is the Islamic "bible", and the eagle is America.
I haven't researched the veracity of the quote, but it's worth thinking about, regardless. I suspect that this "quote" was invented by somebody on the internet. Maybe I'll look into it if I have the time... lots of more important things to do.
Thanks Christopher for taking care of the "astrology issue" for me. You're right.

Astrological Sign: Aquarius

Interesting, that an ulta-conservative(concertative) christian as yourself would dabble in such things.

That information in the profile is added automatically. Notice, you have it as well... unless there is a setting to turn it off... all bloggers have the information in their profiles.

I stand firmly behind my analysis of David's attitude and behaviour. In charismatic circles this incident is used to "justify" what charismatics call "holy dancing" (been there, done that for 3 1/2 years, about 17 years ago) yet there is nothing in the passage to indicate that David's "becoming more undignified than this" was a good thing . Quite the contrary. He was proud and arrogant. God gave him the daughter of a king to be his wife and bear his children. Rather than working to restore the relationship that had been damaged by his exposing himself to the young "maidservants", he chose to put away his wife and marry multiple wives. I used to think that Michal's childlessness was the result of disrespecting the husband to whom she was supposed to be in subjection. I now believe that to be irrelevant. It was up to David to work to restore the relationship, regardless of Michal's words or behaviour.

The result of his action was a family in which one son raped a daughter, another son murdered the rapist, and yet another son led a rebellion against King David. That was hardly the result that would have accrued from working out the relationship damaged by his foolishness, and being the kind of husband and father God had called him to be.
Later in life, he compounded his problems by committing adultery with Bathsheba, and then arranging the murder of her husband Uriah. God did not make him king in order that he might indulge himself in those kinds of arrogant, selfish, low-life behaviour. The fact that he was called a man after God's own heart changes nothing. At times, he was the worst kind of rascal, and his family life was a reflection of that.

The astrological sign is only automatic if ytou give your birth date. So I guess that can be cleared up. That is why I don't have it on my blog.

Mr. Mudslinger,

I am not sure if I could have come up with a better pen name for you. Not only because it most appropriately explicates worst of part of your profession, but also the strategy that you employ to draw attention.

But having said all that let me also confess that it does work.

You know what's funny? The fact that all of you people criticising this guy are nothing but severely bigotted hypocrites yourselves. You attack him because his views (based on facts, rather than some emotional glitch that yours are based on) conflict with your own, yet you say that he is wrong to do what you are already doing. The only difference is, it's obvious he has done his research, while you haven't done any.

If he's an ulta-conservative, what would God be classified as? If you read your Bible at all, you'd find that everything he's saying is right in line with scripture. Oh, but that's right. You don't. You're probably to busy listening to music. All this 'God is love' stuff is pretty funny. Have you even read the book of Matthew?!? Jesus sure isn't lining up with what you say He is. He attacks much more strongly (speaking to the Pharisees) than mudslinger does. What do you think God is? Some 'bubble of love' in the sky? Another thing. Actually LISTEN to some of the music he refers to before bashing him for supporting it. I've seen alot of lives destoyed by Rap, rock, hip-hop, etc. I've seen alot of lives cleaned up by simply listening to good non-contemporary Christian music. Remember "Christian" means Christ like. God is far more conservative than anyone here ever is.
